Artists express their relationship to forests in an exciting new exhibition celebrating our most valuable asset on Earth.
Opening Reception January 16, 2025, 5:30-7:30 PM
The Petaluma Arts Center (PAC) is excited to announce its January-February exhibition, kicking off an exciting lineup of shows for 2025.
Forests are vital to life on Earth, supporting all living beings. While we deeply value them, global warming has turned forests into a double-edged sword, with increasing wildfires and environmental threats. Yet, despite these challenges, more people are drawn to California’s iconic, heritage forests. Every forest is remarkable— even the seemingly ordinary ones.
The artworks in this exhibition emerge from a cycle of long visits to the forest, followed by studio time that sparks new insights and deepens the evolving creative process. Viewers are invited to immerse themselves in these forest-inspired works, which may offer a fresh perspective on future forest walks and inspire a deeper connection with the natural world around us.
Participating artists: Adrienne Defendi, Christel Dillbohner, Charlie Levin, Rainey Strauss, Jennifer Tatum, Stefan Thuilot
Related Event: Stefan Thuilot will present the CA Forestry Project on Saturday, February 15 from 4:30-6:00pm. Artists in the exhibition are included in a panel discussion after the presentation.
