Preserving LGBTQIA+ stories in a Time of Erasure
Thursday, April 17-June 7
An exhibition in our North Gallery
Opening Reception: April 17, 5:30-7:30
Queer Time Capsule is a living archive—an evolving record of queer life today. This exhibition features new photographic work by Sarah Deragon, honoring the presence, beauty, and strength of LGBTQIA+ people in a moment when their very existence is under threat. Through bold, joyful, and deeply personal portraits, the exhibition stands as a visual marker of this moment in queer history—preserving truth before it can be censored, rewritten, or erased.
About the Artist and Curator: Sarah Deragon is a queer portrait photographer, visual storyteller, and teacher based in the Bay Area. For over 13 years, she has created striking, honest images that center on self-expression, identity, and the human connection between photographer and subject. She is the creator of The Identity Project, a globally recognized photo series exploring the language of gender and sexuality. Queer Time Capsule is her latest project that seeks to be a living archive—an evolving record of our queer existence, shaped by the people living it.
