ART - Cat Alden - "The Poetry of the Everyday Object: Wedding Dresses to Truck Tires" Cat creates work that both startles and surprises. She finds the extraordinary in the ordinary and nudges viewers to find the beauty in everyday objects.

LIFE - Josh Petersen - “Adaptive Reuse - The Reimagination of Historic Buildings Josh is a Managing Partner at Comparto, a real estate investment and development firm.  One of his projects is The Watershed, a beautiful open truss historical warehouse building on the Petaluma River

We’re closing our 2023 season of the Idea Lounge at the Petaluma Arts Center.  We convene the fourth Wednesday of each month, taking a break for the holidays in November and December.

Idea Lounge is a series of unexpected conversational pairings rooted in Petaluma. It pairs two unlikely speakers musing on unrelated topics, then invites the audience to uncover unexpected connections through questions and continued conversation. One speaker is always from the arts in some form, the other not. The events last one hour, with each speaker presenting for 20 minutes and the audience getting equal time to ferret out the connective threads between two seemingly disparate topics.
