Directed by Gus Garelick, the GME’s eclectic repertoire reflects music from Argentina to Russia, Italy to Ireland, the Classical Era to Ragtime and beyond. This concert represents 100 years of mandolin orchestra music: from the Golden Age of Mandolin Orchestras (early 20 The Gravenstein Mandolin Ensemble th century) to some original music and arrangements. The 17-member ensemble includes the entire mandolin family: mandolins, mandolas, and mandocellos, with the addition of gujtar, bass, percussion and other surprise guests. The ensemble has performed for numerous audiences in Northern California, including Sonoma, Lake, and Napa counties, as well as San Francisco, Portland, Seattle, and most recently the national convention of the Classical Mandolin Society of America, held in Santa Rosa last November.. Their latest CD, ‘Sweet Harvest,” was released last Fall and will be available at the concert
