Upcycle Sewing

Dates: 10 Mondays, February 4, 11, 18, 25, March 4, 11, April 1, 8, 15, 22 (no class March 18 or 25)
Time: 3:30 – 5:00 pm
Tuition: $100
Materials: Please bring a used wool sweater and pair of jeans.
Upcycle one wool sweater and one pair of jeans into a bag, stuffed animal, denim skirt, or your own creations. All sewing will be done by hand. Learn overcast stitch, blanket stitch, chain stitch, French knot, and more!

Creative Metalwork
Instructor: Griffe Griffiths (Master Metalworker of the Baulines Craft Guild)
Ages: 10-12
Dates: 4 Tuesdays, February 5, 12, 19, 26
Time: 3:30 – 5:30 p.m.
Tuition: $175
Materials: Approx. $40 payable to teacher 1st day of class
Students will learn the processes of chasing, repoussé, and annealing in this fun and engaging class with a master metalworker. Griffe has taught for several years through the Baulines Craft Guild, introducing high school students to the art of metalwork.

The Art of Comics & Cartooning

Ages: 8-12
Dates: 6 Tuesdays, April 2, 9, 16, 23, 30, May 7
Time: 3:30 – 5:00 p.m.

Students can expect a fun and friendly class, learning how to create your own characters, design a comic strip and develop your own story ideas. Capture facial expressions, hone your drawing skills and learn all the tools of the cartooning trade! You will produce a finished comic strip and comic book artwork of your own.

Mix It Up! An Arts Studio

Session 2: 6 Wednesdays, April 3, 10, 17, 24, May 1, 8

In this class we will have so much fun creating funny cartoon characters, working with clay, painting portraits, drawing games, figure drawing and much more! Students will also create their own whimsical, working clocks.

Kids love Sueann’s fun and easy-going teaching style. This class is about using clay to have fun and make your own creations: monsters, funny masks, crazy animals, people, oodles of noodles, bowls or pots – whatever strikes your fancy. Finish your creations with texture and glazes that will magically transform them into shiny, colorful works of art.

Paper mache is one of the most versatile arts around! From ancient times to today, paper mache has been used to build amazing sculptures, masks, furniture and even parade floats. Build large life-like creatures that come alive using paper mache, metal armatures and brilliant paint colors. You’ll learn techniques and tips that will make your imagination soar.

Family Doll Workshop
Instructor: Gerryann Olson
Ages: 6 and up (Adults Welcome)
Date: Saturday, March 23
Times: 10:00 am – 12:00 pm, 1:00 – 3:00 pm
Tuition: $5 per doll
Come and join the fun of making a small doll with your family and friends during a doll-making open studio. Come at any time and plan to spend at least an hour. All supplies will be provided. Proceeds will be donated to the Judy Oster Scholarship Fund for low-income children.
