This is a day long event featuring Charya Burt  modeling in her native dress.  Artist are invited to participate in this live model drawing/painting experience. The participating artists will be part of a local cultural arts event in addition to celebrating and painting a local cultural arts figure. 

Charya Burt is a survivor of the Khmer Rouge genocide of 1970's Cambodia and is a main proponent of the continuation of the 1,000 year old traditional classical dance form that was nearly wiped out during Pol Pot's regime. As a young woman she was a member of the Royal Cambodian Classical Dance Troupe before the Khmer Rouge took over the country in 1975.  She has been a fixture at the Ethnic Dance Festival in San Francisco with her own dance company, Charya Burt Cambodian Dance that has been based in Santa Rosa since 1993.

The Petaluma Art Center provides a community arts venue that will be open to the public, who will have the chance to watch the artist work and the model in an interactive art event. The PAC is in the center of town with plenty of parking and easy access.

Artists wishing to reserve a spot for this unique event may pay $50 in advance, or $60 the day of the event.  Space is limited so reserve your spot today! 

The fee at the door for observation is $10.00

Bring all the equipment and supplies you will need.  Table are available.  Lunch is provided to all participating artists.
