Artist Denise Ward has been designing jewelry for over 25 years. Her work’s in contemporary crafts galleries, museum gift shops, and stores on the West Coast, as well as The Kennedy Center for Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. Inspired by the ancient jewelry designs, her jewelry reflects antiquity in a modern mood with bright colors and intriguing imagery. Each piece is handcrafted by Ward from earrings to cufflinks. Denise Ward also teaches jewelry design, currently instructing future jewelers at Spring Hill Montessori School and Cinnabar Elementary School, Art Escape in Sonoma and Petaluma Arts Center.
PETALUMA ARTS CENTER CLASSES WINTER/SPRING 2019 February, March, April, May 2019 Adults/
All Classes are $100 per session for PAC members, $125 for non-members
Tools and materials for each class and a light vegetarian lunch will be provided by the instructor.
Session 3: April 14, “Color Pencil on Metal”: Pendants and Earrings Adults/
A beautiful new way to color metal using color pencil designs on copper or brass. Students will design a pendant and earrings using art tools: gesso, fixatives and color pencils will set their designs. Students will get an elementary jewelry design class on earrings. Working with jewelry tools and materials to create a new art work in the smallest of forms. All tools and materials are provided by instructor. A light vegetarian lunch will also be provided.
