Summer Arts Camp: Journeys in Stone with Sarah Voorhies

Journeys in Stone with Sarah Voorhies

Dates: Saturday, July 22
Time: 1:00pm – 3:30pm
Ages: all ages
Tuition: $65 general, $58.50 PAC members
Materials Fee: none
Registration Deadline: Monday, July 17, 11:59pm
This workshop integrates art, language arts and creative expression using river rocks to create stories or abstract designs. We will use river rocks in a wide variety of shapes, sizes and colors to create a collage of stone which tells a story, event, myth or fantasy. Then the story is written out. (We can also take dictation). Next, in black and white or with colored pencils, draw the piece, and finally, if comfortable, share your story with the group.
About the Instructor:
As a long time credentialed classroom teacher and artist in the Sebastopol/Forestville area, Sarah has taught in school classrooms (both public and private) and given small private art classes as well as offering private individual lessons.  For over 20 years she worked at the Cazadero Family Music and Arts Summer Camp. For many summers she ran a Summer Drama Camp for teens as well as Art and Science Summer Programs.
Sarah is a professional potter and also works with textiles, drawing, painting, stained glass and basketry.

Please note: Occasionally, PAC will need to cancel a class. If this happens, PAC will notify students at least one day in advance and give a full refund or credit to another Summer Arts Camp 2017 class.

7/22/2017 from 1:00 PM to 3:30 PM PST
