Description:
Students are guided through the process of turning a “blank” rock into an interesting and unique art object – worthy to being a paper weight, door stop, or personalized gift. This four day class is relaxed and geared to help anyone overcome the fear of “making a mistake.” Paint a Rock Figurine or a Flower. Learn about color, color combinations, shading and brush strokes. Gain confidence to boldly paint for pleasure and creativity!

Description:
This two-session class will begin Friday evening with designing and painting the body of the Dulcimer. Then we will assemble the fret board and glue it to the body to allow it to dry overnight. Saturday morning we will add strings and begin learning to tune and play the Dulcimer. All materials will be provided. Students get to take home their own dulcimer instrument and song book.

In this class you will learn the basic principles of handbuilding in clay by creating free-form masks ready for kiln firing.  Then with those basic skills, you will move onto puppet making with an emphasis on mechanical connections in fired clay.  What is really fun is the imagination you bring and the things you will create!

Description:
Create a unique beaded necklace using new and/or vintage beads that are hand wired together with brass wire. Various design techniques will be demonstrated. Each student’s project should be completed by the end of the second session.Students will be taught the basic use of tools and will lay out their initial design concept and begin construction.In the second session, I will consult with each student on his/her progress and help, as needed, to complete the necklace.  Note: Student MUST provide their own beads.  Suggested bead suppliers: 1. Local bead stores 2. online at ebay.com or etsy.com 3. inexpensive vintage necklaces at thrift store that can be re-purposed.

Description:

In this workshop, we will visually and physically explore the relief printing process from concept to final print. Students will have a chance to carve a wood or linoleum block and print an image, resulting in a final print for each student. This class is targeted at students with little to no relief printing experience.  In this fun evening class we will extensively explore the relief printing process of single and multiple color woodblock images.

Ancient Jewelry Designs    SIGN UP

Description:
The ancient jeweler had limited ways to make jewelry designs and spent time creating with wire and hammered metal. We will use these techniques to make a fibula brooch that held togas together. We will also create spiral form earrings, and a simple coil bracelet in brass and copper wire. Fun, filled with 3 big projects, made for the novice or the expert! Lunch  and snacks provided.
