Join me in supporting the Petaluma Arts Center

Opens: TBD  |  Closes: TBD

As the year ends, and retirement begins for me, I find myself looking back over 2017. I asked myself if there was one Petaluma Arts Center highlight, exhibition or event that really stands out. I realized that, in fact, it’s everything — the sum of the parts of the Petaluma Arts Center, that most impacts me.

We started the year with “Discovered: Emerging Artists of Sonoma County,” an exhibition featuring emerging Sonoma County artists, nominated by their peers. Following that was “NeuwPolitic: Artists Explore,” with artists from 20 Northern California counties commenting on the new political and social realities. In the summer, we did our first-ever collaboration with Petaluma Historical Library and Museum and produced the community-building “Face of Petaluma: Portraits of our Town” exhibition. We married science and art in “Tidal Response: Coastal Marine Environments from Above and Below,” with a focus on the fragile Sonoma Coast, and finished the year with an outstanding exhibition featuring our member artists.

The ArtBus traveled to art destinations all over the Bay Area, and the Idea Lounge expanded thinking and discussions in 11 sold-out evenings. Over 600 students visited the Arts Center in field trips to view exhibitions and participate in Visual Thinking Strategies, small-group explorations of art and communication, led by volunteer trained docents.

On this last day of the year, as I retire from the Petaluma Arts Center, I will continue to be both a member and a donor. PAC is important to me as a citizen of Petaluma and as an arts lover.

Please join me in donating to the Petaluma Arts Center today.
