Members Exhibition 2023 - Call For Art

Petaluma Arts Center   Members Show

November 16- December 16

General Information and Overview

Eligibility

Eligibility is for all Petaluma Arts Center members.  This annual exhibition showcases the growing community of artists who are members of PAC and shares their collective creative spirit and work with the wider community.

PAC loves welcoming new members. If you're not a member of PAC, we invite you to join today and participate in this robust community exhibition. You can join here: PAC Memberships. Memberships start at only $50, with discounts for seniors and students. Of special note is our Artist Member category, which provides professional educational opportunities to meet and learn among other artists.

Background Information: Members Show and Silent Auction

We’re doing something different this year.   The Petaluma Arts Center (PAC) is also having a silent auction and fundraiser in our smaller north gallery during the Members Show.  If you are interested in donating a 2-D (only) artwork to PAC for our auction in addition to presenting a work in the Members Show, your $25 fee for entry into the Members Show will be waived.  If auction donations exceed the size of our north gallery, we will include a larger wall in our main gallery.  The auction will extend to Thursday, December 14. If we receive a jpeg of your auction item, we can post it on our website. On the evening of December 14, PAC will be holding a special fundraising event and auction winners will be determined that evening.  The exhibition closes on Saturday, December 16.

Size Limitations for the Silent Auction

For the auction, our maximum size is 20 x 20” for two-dimensional work only. We are not accepting 3-D work. All two-dimensional art must be framed, wired and ready to hang. Please include the following on the back: artist name, artist contact information, title, medium, price.  PAC’s starting bid will be 25% of the price.

Artwork Submissions: Members Show

Please submit one piece of art that best represents you. We welcome media including painting, sculpture, collage and multimedia, photography, ceramics, textiles, metalwork and jewelry. (Digital artists, contact lance@petalumaartscenter.org to determine whether PAC can accommodate your work.) Maximum size is 30" x 40" for two-dimensional work (frame included). For three-dimensional work, we request that your art weigh under 30 pounds and is no larger than a 3'x 3' base.  All two-dimensional art must be framed, wired and ready to hang. No sawtooth hangers please. If your work is not framed, then edges must be finished for professional presentation.

Prior to dropping off your work (either for the members show, the auction or both), please complete our online google form for artist and artwork information. We also request that you print and sign the loan and liability release form and bring it with you when you drop off your work. Completing these two steps in advance helps PAC immensely in organizing the exhibition and decreases your wait time when you drop off your artwork. Thank you, in advance, for completing this step.

Identification

All artworks must be identified in a secure manner with the artist's name, title, materials, and price.  Please include this same information for the auctioned artwork and PAC will select the starting minimum bid.  If your artwork for the members show is not for sale, please indicate NFS. This information must be clearly printed in a concise area preferably no larger than 3” x 3”. The preferred locations for this are: on 2D work, on the back near the upper left-hand corner when viewed from the back and for 3D work on the bottom or otherwise hidden surface.

Liability and Insurance Paperwork

Please complete the required forms in advance and have them ready during your art drop off date.

Sales and Commission

For sales of artwork, the artist receives 60% and PAC receives 40%.  For the auction, 100% of the auction sale goes to PAC.
