Idea Lounge

Join us the evening of Wednesday, October 25th, for an Idea Lounge conversation with Greg Knight, Art Director and Concept Artist, and Matthew Harris, Superintendent, Petaluma City Schools. Come for drinks and mingling at 6:30pm, and enjoy the program from 7:00-8:00pm.

ART - Greg Knight - “Art Direction, Concept Art and Sketch Booking”

From leading art teams to drawing in his sketchbook, Greg uses art to create style and mood to tell stories and the people, locations and spaceships to tell that story with.  Every venture is an effort to imagine something new and meaningful for the viewer.

LIFE - Matthew Harris - “Expanding Student Learning Opportunities. Key Ingredient? Just One Trusted Adult!”

Matthew Harris is in his third year as Superintendent of Petaluma City Schools where he is committed to creating a safe and positive community for all children, families, and residents in the Petaluma Area.

We’re closing our 2023 season of the Idea Lounge at the Petaluma Arts Center.  We convene the fourth Wednesday of each month, taking a break for the holidays in November and December.

Idea Lounge is a series of unexpected conversational pairings rooted in Petaluma. It pairs two unlikely speakers musing on unrelated topics, then invites the audience to uncover unexpected connections through questions and continued conversation. One speaker is always from the arts in some form, the other not. The events last one hour, with each speaker presenting for 20 minutes and the audience getting equal time to ferret out the connective threads between two seemingly disparate topics.
